Queer and Searching for Love: Part 1
Scrolling and mentally filtering out all the ones you think are bad or not the one. But how would you know that if you're literally just sitting around and playing on your phone. Do you really think your going to meet the one on a dating dating app? Like be fucking for real. As we all know the internet is a social construct. Its a fast paced non realistic world where information is processed almost as fast as the speed of light. People have entrusted their lives in the electronic data era. Well I'm here to let you know that, That is not a tangible way to acquire love in your life. As people, we have been told to wait for love and not to seek love. This is true, we should not go out our way to find someone to love. You'll never truly get what you desire because you'll eventually settle. But waiting for love also doesn't mean literally avoiding being around people. get the fuck out of your bed and something that will make you feel great and complete. If you are a reader go to the library or book readings. If you are a writer, go to poetry slams and have a drink. If you are a producer, go to underground concerts and make some connections. You may fall in love and you may not fall in love but at least you know you strived to enjoy your life in the mist of waiting for love. What people dont realize is, is that you have to create the ambiance or atmosphere. What I mean by that is, you have to truly be enjoying yourself and loving yourself to receive the love you are looking for. You can't waste your life away just waiting for someone to love you. If you've ever watched Sex and The City, you'll notice that all of the women were looking for love but in the right way. They were not forcing relationships but they naturally allowed their relationships to fall into place while still waiting for love and enjoying themselves. Love isn't a race its a marathon, its like you have to hold your hand first before you can hold someone else hand and run with them. Love will find you regardless, its up to you to truly define what loves means to you by the way you treat yourself and those around you. Be wise about dating over the internet, be confident in going out to events and enjoying your self love, Be courages and go the extra mile to talk to guys or girls. Don't just look for love and be blind, look for signs. Look for interests. Look for friendship or just let it be a sexual advancement. All of these things will lead you to the right path as long as you have good intentions. You don't have to search for love when you are the love your searching for. Let the wind gracefully carry you into it instead of fighting the wind head one. To all my Queer Black American readers, What are you searching for on the dating apps? What are the qualities you look for when you are filtering out love interests? Do you love yourself enough to take yourself out and be the person you want to love? How are you working towards being more available to love so love can make its way to you?
xoxo
