The power of being queer

Humans have powers. I am not talking about the powers that are dramatized by your favorite superhero. Superhero's were made to help humans escape their daily lives, and believe in something outside of what was perspiring in their personal life. Even though the superhero's we see in comics are fictional, there is a metaphor to the creation of superhero's. Every single person was designed with a specific skill set. This skill set is unique to your own individuality. For some it may be sewing for others, it may be the gift of gab. Anyways, Queer individuals have super powers and I am here today to help you realize your strength. In the queer community, we are able to adapt so well to life and the changes of life. I personally think that we are so adaptable due to the past trauma of others taking away our human rights to love and appreciation who we want and when we want. So for those who are aware of oppression, one would understand how our queer community overcame the oppression that was bestowed among us by heterosexual religious communities. For those who don't know, Oppression is defined by google as the, "prolonged cruel or unjust treatment or control." Throughout history people have tried to continuously keep many social groups oppressed so that they may continue to keep control over societies morals and values. Even though we have seen oppressor's become successful, it didn't last for long. For example, In the black American community majority race, Caucasians, tried their absolute best to minimize and destroy the black community. They were very prideful about not accepting us. They did everything in their power to make sure that we would never see the parts of success they created for themselves. However, My black ancestors did not stand for such cruel treatment so they started to use their super powers to break the bounds of oppression. For queer individuals, this was also a challenge for us. The challenge was to overcome the stigma of queer rights and how we are perceived socially. In the past, people committed hate crimes against the queer community because of their own insecurity or due to them despising us. So of course, the only way to beat the odds is to rise up and use our superpowers. We as a queer community are very eclectic. We have a lot of our hands in how the fashion, film and music industry play out. due to us still fighting to help others understand our life style, we tap into our powers daily. Some of the things that I recognize in the queer community are the powers of: Understanding, duality and assimilation. The power of understanding is a very impactful and useful superpower. To be able to put ourselves in everyone shoes is such a great way to relate and network with others. The queer community has had such strife presented against them, That they grew stronger to help others see how the rumors or false ideations never really defined who we truly were. I mean, they literally disclosed to others that we are committing a social crime for loving the same sex, or we were classified as pedos and couldn't even come close to children. These ideals still live on in certain individuals and social groups! The other superpower is duality. Duality is defined by google as the\," quality or condition of being dual." Spiritual Duality, is the super power that the queer community uses daily and we use it subconsciously. My personal definition of Spiritual duality is," The power to tap into the feminine spirit and masculine spirit." Many would call this non-binary, I classify it as an awakening that everyone...even heteros must become aware of. Anyways, we as the queer community use our spiritual duality to read rooms and become the person they are looking for. Its kind of like morph from the X-Men. Morph would use his super powers to fill in the gap where the other superhero's couldn't. He had the ability to change into any character while using their powers. The queer community is very similar to morph. We are able to use our masculine and Feminine energy to tap into the environments around us. Lastly, The queer community do very well with assimilating. As you know times have changed but there are still people who do not like nor entertain us at all. We as queer people see this everywhere whether it be at work, a restaurant or even at home. However, we now understand that "there is a time and a place for everything", Ecclesiastes 3:1. There is a time to be expressive and there is a time to leave the room. There is a time to be dramatic and there is a time to not give any energy at all. Being able to understand assimilation is not an easy concept, but when you have odds against you... you tend to develop the power regardless. This helps queer individuals gage people and how they act toward certain tones, dramatics, mannerisms and etc. We do this to protect ourselves, friends, families and jobs. People are so misunderstood and a lot of the times others do not take the time to understand. Assimilation, Understanding and Duality are not the only super powers we bare but those are the most surface and used super powers we use till this day.
