Queer and Hungry for success
It starts as a jit. It starts when you are young. I'm a testament. The hunger grows and grows the older you get. And honestly, this is just not for queers only. Anyone who strives to be Successful or a business owner, they have these similar feelings. Its literally an empitness in your stomach that you try to fill. Its the desire to be at the top and strive for more. Even though thee feelings are valid, There is still upsides and downsides to the way you perceive your own success. Anyone who is on the pursuit of success, has the feelings that they maybe aren't doing enough. I want to let you know that you are doing enough and if you feel like you aren't, than one may need to reevaluate what and who is driving your motivation of success. A lot of the time, comparison plays a huge role in how one views their success. This can come from a fellow associate, Social media, or even your own loved ones. It's ok to go at the pace you are going. It's also ok to make mistakes along the way. No one has the perfect journey. Not everyone has someone that can assist and advise them of the right things to do. Also, If you are like me who is taking advantage of your time and making the effort to make something of your passion, you are doing exactly what you are suppose to do. Winging it is tough, but it's about the journey you take to get there. At least that's what I hear all the time or that's what I am being told. I am learning to accept that fact as well. As we all know, not everything processes quickly. It takes you to go through something to really absorb, understand and appreciate the words that have been advised to you. That too is ok. The turtle always wins the race. One of the many upsides to this is finding who you genuinely are. I personally am going through emotional changes to where I am looking for peace in the mist of my storm. I really rely on the story Beloved, written by Toni Morrison. In the story, she references water and the water is symbolic of birth, re-birth, and the escape to freedom. Im looking for my own escape to freedom.
